Looking for the officers? No officers in THIS Red and Purple Disorganization!
What we do have is the North Carolina Queens' Council (made up of all the Red Hat Queens, Vice Queens, Treasurers and Activity Planners in the state). Within the greater Queens' Council, we have a group of volunteer Regional Coordinators, who (since 2005) have worked to get Red Hat chapters in certain geographic areas of the state somewhat organized. They also encourage Queens to volunteer to host quarterly events in their own regions. Meeting, greeting and introducing . . . that's what Coordinators do!
It was necessary for a time for these coordinators to come together and act as a "Board" in order to get some basic structure and figure out where we were headed. But as of March 2008 those coordinators made a decision to disband as a "working" group and come together only once a year for social purposes, lest we get "too organized" and ruin all the frivolity in the process.
The Red Hat Society in North Carolina therefore remains a "disorganization" with just enough structure to prevent us from running in circles.
If you have suggestions for adding to the fun of our Red Hatting in North Carolina, or want to volunteer to be a regional coordinator in one of the "regions" that is currently being served within another region, let us know at NCQueensCouncil@gmail.com or get in touch with the Region Coordinator in the area you are in now by clicking through to the Regions page for an email address for that person.
